Self Defense Training (Ho Shin Sool)

Our self defense curriculum involves joint locks and other immobilizing techniques that are practiced with a partner. Many techniques come from the Korean martial art of Hapkido. You'll learn how to control an opponent by applying pressure to joints or nerve centers without seriously injuring him as well as how to do more serious damage to your opponent should circumstances demand it. These lessons also teach how to escape from holds and how to react to other types of attacks, including armed attacks. Because of the potential risk of serious injury if practiced over zealously, joint locks are not taught until students reach the green belt level.
